10th Annual Peter De Mott Peace Trot - 1 Mile Run RESULTS
10th Annual Peter De Mott Peace Trot - 5K RESULTS

2019 PEACE TROT RESULTS
On what was a warm, rainy but very spirited race day, 161 people ran and walked the 5K and 57 people ran and walked the 1Mile. Caitlin Loehr ran an awesome 5K, being the first woman to come in. Caitlin lowered her time from last year by 1 minute 53 seconds and was two seconds off the woman’s Cass Park course record. Bernadette O’Neil, who was the fastest woman in the very first Peace Trot, still holds the Peace Trot record.  14 year old Sasha Coyote was the overall winner in the 5K. Sasha is an 8th grader at Boynton Middle School, but already runs on the Ithaca High School cross country and track teams. Sasha said that the race “was great, lots of fun despite the mud.” He intends to run again next year. Niclas Kongstad and Taidyn Dennis George were 2nd and 3rd overall. Milissa Usack was the second woman to finish in her first Peace Trot. Sarah Subin was third.

The winning milers were both 9 year olds, both breaking the 8 minute mark. Timur Urazghildiiev was the fastest boy and Ephraim Swartwood, the fastest girl. Timur is just finishing third grade at Northeast Elementary School. He is actually more of a swimmer, but has become interested in the triathlon, swimming, biking and running. He participated in the Cayuga Lake Triathlon last year and is planning to do so again this August.  Congratulations to all of the young runners who came with their families to participate in our event!

In our first posting of the results there were some mistakes; runners on the lists who had actually ran in the other race. We've corrected those that we know about. If there are other mistakes, please let us know.
