Ahmaud Arbery, a fit athlete, was out jogging near his home on a Sunday afternoon in Brunswick, Georgia on February 23, 2020, when two white supremacists saw him, got their guns, got in a truck, chased him down, pulled up next to him, shot him at least two times, and killed him right there on the spot. Ahmaud was unarmed, broke no laws, and did nothing wrong. He was only 25 years old when he died.

The Ithaca Catholic Worker community is outraged at Ahmaud's killing and we mourn his death, sending our heartfelt condolences to his family and community. Many of us have dedicated a run/walk/jog/trot to Ahmaud and we are asking you to join us. Click here -

It's both beyond belief and sadly not at all surprising that this kind of racist violence is still happening in the US. Thank you to everyone who "ran with Maud" on Friday. Anything we can do to show our solidarity, especially during this pandemic, is a light shining in the darkness.
