Peace Trot practice runs 2017

Built within the hills of Eastern Ithaca, the Cornell Arboretum offers an array of brilliant gardens, grand arboretums, calming ponds, and inviting woodlands. A network of both paved and unpaved trails runs throughout this charmed landscape, welcoming people to explore and engage with their surroundings. These trails are the site of the annual Peter De Mott Peace Trot, a five kilometer (3.1 mile) run organized in memory of the local peace activist Peter De Mott. This year the event will be held on Sunday, June 18th. The race organizers would like to welcome you to weekly spring and summer group runs, starting as soon as there is enough interest, continuing past the race day and into the summer. We will meet early evening every week at the Sculpture Garden in the Arboretum, which can be accessed from Forest Home Drive or Arboretum Road. All ages and running abilities are welcome!  Please contact Tom Joyce 277- 7426, tomjoyce51@aim.com, or Amelia Kaufman Amelia.Kaufman@uvm.edu and suggest an evening that is best for you.   And please let us know if the Arboretum is an inconvenient place for you.
